Customer Success Story: Nelcos - Multi-Location Retailers and Restaurants

About Nelocs

Nelcos is a Canadian-based company with offices in Vancouver, Toronto, and Las Vegas. They hold exclusive distribution rights in North America for Hyundai’s line of architectural vinyl films, called Bodaq. Bodaq is a stretchable and durable design solution for refinishing any surface, including doors, walls, tabletops, countertops, ceilings, and even curved surfaces. The key benefits of this product include:

  • 30% savings compared to traditional renovation efforts

  • Enhanced durability, with a finish that typically lasts 7 to 10 years

  • Huge selection of 450 patterns, many of which are embossed

Given these benefits and the tight renovation budgets many organizations face due to recent inflationary pressures, interest in lower-cost alternatives to traditional millwork is growing.

To expand, Nelcos needed assistance with an account-based sales effort targeting multi-location retailers and restaurant chains across Canada and the US.

Business Problem

With business growing, the owners (Roman and Victor) needed to manage existing customers while continuing sales and marketing efforts to designers, contractors, and resellers. They required help driving additional sales alongside their own efforts and those of a small sales team. Roman and Victor turned to VA Partners for assistance in developing the larger multi-location retailer and restaurant market in a cash-flow-friendly manner across Canada and the US.

Our Solution

Utilizing VA Partners’ Part-Time Sales services, a comprehensive sales strategy was developed and executed, including:

  • Developing a sales plan and sales messaging

  • Utilizing their HubSpot CRM to manage the sales process

  • Proactively targeting new multi-location retailers and restaurant chains

  • Following up with this targeted list to secure pilot opportunities and close deals

The Results

After working together for a number of years, VA Partners has assisted Nelcos in closing several major new clients, including:

  • One of Canada’s largest grocery chains

  • One of North America’s largest pet food chains

  • One of Canada’s largest restaurant brands, with over 1,000 locations across 300 communities

  • One of Canada’s most well-known breakfast and lunch restaurant chains, with over 130 locations across the country

  • One of the US’s premier fondue restaurant chains, operating in over 31 states with over 90 locations

These sales required significant time and effort—often involving 20 to 30 calls, emails, and meetings over 12 to 24 months to set up pilots and secure inclusion in design specifications.

Annual recurring revenue from these wins exceeds $400,000 per year and continues to grow. Success was driven by focus, persistence, and continuous effort—backed by an outstanding product.
