The Experts: Anticipated B2B Marketing Trends of 2023

2022 brought many exciting and interesting marketing ideas and innovations to the forefront, and we reached out to various marketing experts to find out what they think is a priority for marketers moving forward into 2023, and B2B video content came out on top.

For many of the marketing professionals we connected with, their biggest priority for their marketing initiatives going into 2023 is video and content marketing. People are watching videos more than ever before, in fact video consumption has nearly doubled since 2018, and here is what they had to say about video and trends they see taking hold.

I’ll experiment with TikTok because the audience is growing, and it will become a more interesting marketing tool. I’m a big believer in the power of video, and it will probably be where I look to make the most improvements. TikTok has shown that short-form video is a great way to deliver insight. At a time when stock photos are so “meh,” I’m interested in using illustrations from places like CocoMaterial and Undraw.co. Mark Evans- Principal- Marketing Spark

When it comes to video and images, it is important to make sure that they are eye catching and to keep things exciting in 2023. We know that as individuals, we get easily distracted, and it’s harder to even capture someone’s attention these days with all of the messages flying by us every minute. That said, it will be important to be eye-catching and ‘out of the box’ as much as possible with images and videos as we go into 2023. Giuliana Bevilacqua – Associate Manager- Omni Marketing

TikTok! No doubt about it. TikTok is growing at an exponential rate. More people will buy a product that they’ve seen under the “TikTok made me buy it” hashtag, and use TikTok as their search engine than they use Google, and despite the narrative that it’s for gen-z, the majority of users are still 40+. Video will continue to be an important part of any B2B marketing strategy. Users are more likely engage with video content over text or even audio. It’s important to make sure that your videos are well done and engaging, and connect with your audience in a way that helps them see how your business can help them solve a particular problem. We encourage our clients to use video to help their ideal customer understand the product or solution better to really see how it can work for them. Stacey Kerslake- Marketing Manager- VA Partners
