Ask the Experts: Marketing Strategies 2025

As the New Year gets underway, we once again reached out to some trusted Marketing Experts to ask “What marketing tactics or strategies will you be recommending putting more effort into in 2025?.”

This year, the spotlight will be on strategies that prioritize personalization, leverage AI, and build authentic connections with audiences. Whether you’re a seasoned marketer or a business owner looking to optimize your efforts, this blog will explore the key marketing approaches you should be investing more time and resources into for maximum impact in 2025. Let’s dive in and discover what this group of experts are expecting in the world of marketing innovation.

Vanessa Green – Greenlight Content

In 2025, organizations will benefit from investing more heavily in tone of voice for their copy and content. The deluge of generative AI content today means everyone sounds the same – and it’s only going to get worse. The only real way to differentiate your brand now is to double down on your tone of voice and ensure it shines through in everything you create. Brand tone of voice comes from understanding your own brand objectives, but more importantly, understanding your audience, how they prefer to be communicated with and what approach will resonate with them.

Though the phrase is overused, storytelling will become increasingly more important in an age where every brand is starting to sound the same. Case studies that showcase a product or service in the real world and provide context for its use will become increasingly important as a point of differentiation. This includes testimonials and other social proof so that others can shout about how great you are and do your marketing for you.

Mark Evans- Marketing Spark

As it becomes more challenging to attract and engage prospects, I’m a big believer in person-to-person marketing. It’s not just personalized marketing, but establishing connections and building relationships to develop brand awareness and trust. We often forget that people buy from people.

Sourov De – Stryve Digital Marketing

We found that many of our clients spent the last few years going far and wide with their marketing efforts and collecting data. The coming year will be about honing in on what is the most valuable use of their time and budgets.  For example, content creation is a place we’re encouraging our clients to get more niche focused. AI produced content is good at creating generalized content. We see the opportunity for our clients to differentiate from this AI produced content by having a clear point of view on their industry, delivering niche expertise with a distinct and authentic brand voice.

Stacey Kerslake – VA Partners

In addition to using more AI tools to support personalization and content creation, I will be recommending to clients to put more effort into building engaging communities and creating content that adds value.

Community Engagement

Building engaging communities: Focus on building exclusive communities on platforms like LinkedIn, and Discord to foster engagement and loyalty.

User Generated Content: Encourage customers to create and share content around your brand or experience to amplify reach and authenticity.

Content Marketing

Thought Leadership: Double down on blogs, white papers and webinars that position your brand as an expert in your field.

Short Form Video: short, engaging videos will continue to thrive. Videos including product highlights, customer success stories and more.

Interactive Content: invest in polls, quizzes and Q&As to create customer engagement

Kevin Smith- The Story Architect

I’m putting more focus on SEO and specifically some advanced content tactics.  That includes content pillars, tools, and software.  Instead of focusing articles on specific keyword phrases, I’m focusing first on key seed phrases, and then building a body of knowledge around those with pillar articles and spoke articles.   This is for a few reasons.

  • It better trains the search algorithm that you have a deep understanding of information that is useful.
  • If the content is helpful to users, it gives them more avenues to dig deeper and explore, increasing their engagement.
  • It allows you to create more snippets or answers to FAQs that might train the AI search algorithms.

In 2025, the digital marketing focus will shift even more toward authenticity, personalization, and alignment with evolving buyer journeys, with several strategies poised to deliver significant results. Account-Based Marketing (ABM) will continue to lead, using real-time data and ABM platforms to craft highly personalized campaigns for key accounts. Thought leadership with whitepapers, podcasts, and industry reports, amplified through targeted LinkedIn campaigns and strategic partnerships, will position brands as trusted experts. The continued growth of video content will remain essential, with short, impactful formats tailored for platforms like LinkedIn and YouTube driving engagement and building trust. While these strategies are critical, nothing will have a greater impact on long-term success than delivering an exceptional customer experience. Prioritizing CX by mapping and optimizing every touchpoint, leveraging interactive tools such as AI and personalization and ensuring seamless design will be the key differentiator in an increasingly competitive landscape.

As 2025 unfolds, the marketing tactics and strategies you choose to prioritize will play a pivotal role in your brand’s success. Whether it’s personalized customer experiences, leveraging data for actionable insights, or embracing authentic content that resonates, the key is to stay adaptable and forward-thinking.

By focusing on approaches that align with both emerging trends and your target audience’s evolving needs, you can position your business for sustainable growth.
