Ask the Experts: Sales Automation and AI

Our sales experts are back to answer a very topical question, what are you seeing with sales automation AI in 2024?

Let’s explore what these sales experts had to say, as the world of sales automation AI continues to grow and flourish.

Tim Davison- Togetherall

While there is a role for AI at Togetherall, both our sales process and our product are heavily predicated on human-to-human connection and relationships. I don’t see this changing any time soon. With that said, we have begun tipping our toes in the proverbial AI waters. Currently we are using it to support with some of our market research efforts, and in the ideation stage for some of our marketing content.

Sam Brennand- Figma

We are constantly working to provide our sales teams with more actionable intelligence, and AI and our sales automation tools are a big part of that. In 2024, we’ll continue to invest into processes and technologies that let our sellers spend less time on tedious tasks and more time on more value-added activities like thorough discovery and building business cases collaboratively with their customers. We’re always on the hunt for opportunities to leverage AI or automation to help ensure that our sellers are able to stay focused on delivering value.

Marlene Keay- Virtual Causeway

We are leveraging artificial intelligence in a few areas:

  • Gather insights into customer behavior and preferences
  • Repurposing or adapting pre-created content for a different audience, format or channel
  • Writing basic copy or outlines for social media posts, emails, blog posts, etc.

We will continue to test and experiment with AI to help our sales and marketing teams.

Mark Elliott- VA Partners

At VA Partners will be leveraging the automation features within our HubSpot CRM more this year.  With our clients we are leveraging more workflows and sequences inside of Hubspot. We have been exploring different AI sales tools and have been left a little underwhelmed with the benefits over the existing tools we are using. Many of the new tools seem to be more about automation, but they call it AI.  The journey in search of new tools will continue in 2024.

Karen Kelly – K2 Sales Academy

Chat GPT can most definitely improve our productivity. It is great for sorting, comparing, gathering large amounts of data even writing a first email draft or course outline.

Freeing up our time to perform other meaningful work.

What Chat CPT doesn’t have is empathy, compassion, or a human edge.

These emotions help us connect the data and turn it into something meaningful that will move our audience.

My vote is for Chat GPT. Allow it to gather, process, sort the data. However, ensure the flow, feel and emotions are present through our own human lens.

This is another example of why we need both the art and science to become an effective sales person.

As sales automation AI  continues to grow and become more accessible, it is important for salespeople to get familiar with these various sales automation and AI tools, while also taking time to experi. Sales people are still vital to any sales role, however with these AI and sales automation tools, it can bring efficiency and growth to your business.
