AI for Sales Success

Our team has been exploring the different ways that we can use AI for sales success. AI has come a long way over the past few years.  It has quickly become part of our everyday sales efforts to support VA Partners sales and our clients efforts.  AI for sales should still be considered a tool and not guide your entire sales strategy. We also recommend not using 100% of the output, but tweaking and customizing the output. Here  are a few of the ways that we use AI for sales.

Defining ICP Targets

One of the use cases that we have been using AI for sale success is to narrow down ideal customer profiles. As an example we have a client that makes wind turbines and we are looking for targets across Canada.  One of the success factors is areas with great wind. We can ask for areas within certain provinces. With that information we can then tweak the question for account based research.

Account based research

We often have a focus on account based sales and AI is very helpful with this.  One of examples is having a client that has an industrial product used in retail or restaurant refreshes.  We can quickly search for size, geography, industry, and organizations that have announced store refreshes.  This can even be outputted into a table.  This saves the team countless hours of research.

Messaging

The VA Partners team has been using AI for some time to help with messaging.  We use it for email messaging, but usually start with an email and ask for feedback.  Other use cases include social posts and even subject lines.

Targeted follow-up

You may find you have a contact that has gone quiet.  One of the ways to re-engage is with a customized email.  Taking past interactions and detailed information on the contact, AI can help craft a follow-up email.  We have had great success booking the next meeting using this strategy.

Preparing for meetings

As you move from cold outreach to a discovery call you can use AI to help prepare for the meeting. You can uncover research that will allow you to be more focused and prepared for the meeting.

Tools

We use a few AI for sales tools at VA Partners. These include Jasper, Perplexity, and ChatGPT.
