Early in September we had another great Sales Peer to Peer at the Innovation Factory with Dave Howe from Sales for Life. Dave had a very interactive session focused how to use Linkedin for Social Selling. Dave spent time on 3 key tips that can help firms close business. The session was spent with live demonstrations and referrals to a Sales for Life Social Selling presentation.
Linkedin Groups
Groups are a great and underutilized feature within Linkedin. From the members tab within the groups you can do a number of things to help from a prospecting perspective. There is the ability to see recent activity, follow and see future activity, and even message for free. These features are typically only available if you have a 1st connection with a person.
Boolean Search
The advanced search functions within Linkedin are incredible. You have the ability to search on individuals or companies. It is a great way to make a list. There is also the ability to do Boolean searches. This means using search terms in association with AND and OR terms. This becomes a very powerful feature, especially with the ability to add other filters like industry and location.
Posting Content
This is one of the most underused features within Linkedin. Posting content is a great way to stay top of mind with existing customers, prove subject matter expertise to prospects, and generate inbound leads. Best practice is to share some 3rd party information as well as your own content. It is quick to do an can have a powerful impact.
