From Social to Close: B2B Social Selling

social sellingThis past week we had a great presentation at the Sales Peer to Peer at the Innovation Factory by Chad McCaffrey from PostBeyond.

Chad presented From Social to Close. I pride myself on being a strong user of social media for B2B sales, but I find that there are always new things that can be learned.  Chad did not disappoint with an informative presentation that was a mix of strategy and tactical information on B2B selling.

The highlights of the presentation for me include:

Content Marketing is Key

B2B Prospects and customers are increasingly researching on the web and social media to find information to help make their decisions. Organizations should create content that draws people to their site and is also great to share through platforms like Linkedin and Twitter.

Social Selling Funnel

Chad defined it as Soft engagement, direct engagement, pitch, and close.  Social mostly comes into effect in the soft and direct engagement.

Tools

Chad mentioned many of the tools that I use on a daily basis like Hootsuite. He also peaked my interest on Buffer and Pocket. Chad also mentioned Quora, which I haven’t used in many months, but may start to again.
